What does Selenium do for the body?

Selenium is an antioxidant which protect cells from damage. It has been described as crucial for the production of glutathione peroxidase, the body’s primary antioxidant that is found in every cell. Supplementing selenium may aid in reducing the risk of a stroke, reduce risk of heart disease and support against menopausal distress. Studies have also shown that Selenium aids fertility in men and encourages youthful elasticity in tissues.
