What is CoQ10?
CoEnzyme Q10, also called CoQ10 (Ubiquinone) is a naturally occurring substance that facilitates the production of cellular energy. An antioxidant that scavenges free radicals throughout the body and is also involved in maintaining normal heart function. The production of CoQ10 declines with age.
Why is CoQ10 important?
CoQ10 drives the conversion of glucose into energy, which we use to power our metabolism and muscles – the most important being our heart. CoQ10 supplements are now routinely recommended to people on statins, which can deplete the body’s natural production of it.
