APRICOT (Prunus armeniaca)
Frutteto means ‘orchard’ in Italian as it is in the Tuscan hills near Florence that we make our healthy jams. We use handpicked, fully ripe, organic apricots sourced mainly from our local orchards. Of artisan quality, we cook our Apricot jam gently at low temperature, in small batches to preserve the fresh apricot flavour, vitamins, minerals, fibre content and aroma. Unlike the traditional way of cooking jams and conserves, which can destroy the goodness with harsh heat. Fresh apricots are an excellent source of vitamins A and C, are high in other antioxidants, most notably flavonoids, potassium and fibre.
